An 85-year-old woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on St. Margarets Bay Road near Halifax.
The RCMP said in a release they they found a non-responsive woman in the driver’s seat of a small car when they responded to the Lewis Lake crash at 4:02 p.m.
Paramedics and firefighters extricated the woman from the car and provided assistance but were not able to revive her, police said. She died at the scene.
An RCMP collision analyst was called to examine the scene, about 25 kilometres west of downtown Halifax. Highway 3 was closed in the area for several hours and the investigation continues.
