Weekend Happenings in Cumberland County

Two art galleries along highway 366 host their 2018 Open House on Saturday; The Tidnish Bridge Art Gallery hosts their open house from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Blue Heron Gallery hosts their open house from 1 to 4 p.m.

Saturday

Blue Heron Gallery Open House

1 to 4 p.m. open house at Blue Heron Gallery, 11 Beatons Bluff, Route 366, Lorneville. Featured artist for 2018 is John Greer of Amherst. Guest artist is Randy Mugford, a Nova Scotia furniture designer. For more information, call 902-661-1089.

Tidnish Bridge Art Gallery Open House

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Tidnish Bridge Art Gallery. The gallery features eight artists who deal in in all artistic mediums, including oil painting, water colours, graphic prints, acrylics, pastels, coloured pencils, and pottery. The gallery is located at 3654 Highway 366, Tidnish.

Rodney Estabrooks Memorial Tournament

10 a.m. to noon craft and bake sale at Tidnish Community Centre, washer toss games at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and ball tournament with canteen at Rodney Estabrooks Memorial Sports Complex, Tidnish. All proceeds in support of muscular dystrophy.

Bake and Craft Sale

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sunrise Senior’s Hall, Lower Shinimicas Road. Baked items and crafts, canteen open. Tables available to rent by calling 902-447-3113 or 902-661-4140.

Seafood Chowder

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wallace Community Centre with biscuits, salads, desserts and more. Proceeds for Wallace United Church.

Sunday

King Seaman Church Service

2 p.m. at King Seaman United Church, Minudie with Bill Drysdale officiating. Reception to follow in Minudie Community Hall.
