AMHERST, N.S. – Vandals attempted to light portable washrooms on fire around the time of Canada Day celebrations.
The Amherst Police Department is investigating a complaint that three portable washrooms placed near Victoria Park for the Canada Day celebrations were vandalized.
The suspects attempted to set fire to toilet paper inside the washrooms.
There are also scratches to the sides of the structures and holes in the floor area.
Estimated damage to the washrooms is around $2,600.
The incident is thought to have happened sometime between June 30 and July 2.
