TIDNISH, N.S. – For the ninth consecutive year, artists will display and sell their creations at the Tidnish Bridge Art Gallery.

“I think when people come in they don’t expect the level of art that’s here, and the first word I often hear is ‘wow,’” said Diana Vertis McIsaac.

The gallery is hosting its annual open house July 21.

“It’s cottage country, so we are busy in July and August,” added McIsaac. “Things are really picking up now.”

Each year the gallery has tourists from throughout the world drop in.

“It’s a well-travelled area for tourists,” said McIsaac. “Somebody came in the other day from Africa.”

The gallery features eight artists who deal in all artistic mediums, including oil painting, water colours, graphic prints, acrylics, pastels, coloured pencils, and pottery.

It also holds classes and workshops throughout the summer. Classes include acrylic painting taught by McIsaac, copper-plate etching taught by Bob Morouney, hand-built pottery taught by Melanie Landau, and pottery wheel throwing taught by Charlie Atherton.

Workshops feature experimental watercolours, acrylic painting, drawing and painting faces, monotype printing, and painting artist trading cards.

The gallery also hosts exhibits by various artists throughout the summer.

The Tidnish Bridge Art Gallery is located at 3654 Highway 366, Tidnish.
