AMHERST, N.S. – Tyler Dara Stronge, 31, of New Salem, was in court Sept. 9 and will return to court Oct. 10, to have dates set for hearings in Supreme Court.
Stronge faces nine charges, eight of which stem from incidents that occurred March 4, 2019, in Stanley, N.S.
– The four weapons charges he faces from March 4, 2019, are as follows:
Stronge is alleged to have carried a weapon, a bolt action .22 calibre rifle, for a purpose dangerous to the public; to have carried the rifle in a careless manner; to have ammunition, a .22 magazine, which he carried in a careless manner; and to have possessed a rifle knowing he was not the holder of a license under which he may possess the rifle.
He is also charged with having his face masked after it was alleged he had his face covered while being in possession of a dangerous weapon with the intent to commit an indictable offence.
– The break and enter charge from March 4, 2019, is as follows:
Stronge is alleged to, without lawful excuse, have had in his possession instruments suitable for the purpose of breaking into a place, a pry-bar and hammer, which, under the circumstances, gave rise to a reasonable inference that the instruments were being used to commit a crime.
– The two ‘failing to comply’ charges from March 4, 2019, are as follows:
He is alleged to have failed to comply with a condition to not possess firearms without lawful excuse and to not possess cannabis without lawful excuse.
– He is also charged with one firearms incident that occurred March 5, 2019, in Stanley.
Stronge is alleged to have been in possession of a firearm, a .22 calibre rifle, knowing he was not the holder of a license under which he may possess the rifle.
