AMHERST, N.S. – Tyler Dara Stronge, 31, of New Salem, had his preliminary show cause hearing adjourned to July 2, at 9:30 a.m. after he appeared in Amherst Provincial Court on June 24.

Stronge has been charged with 24 offences and remains in custody.

His alleged crimes include assault, making repeated phone calls, wearing a face mask with the intent to commit a crime, possession of a break-in instrument, possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized, two counts of careless use of a firearm, two counts of arson, five counts of setting fire to a substance, and eight counts of failing to comply with various conditions, including not possessing a firearm and not possessing cannabis.

His alleged crimes occurred between June 1, 2018, and April 23, 2019.

The alleged assault happened June 1, 2018, and the alleged repeated phone calls occurred June 13, 2018; both in Parrsboro.

The alleged firearm and break-ins happened in Stanley on the Old Halifax Road on March 4 and March 5, 2019.

The alleged arson and setting fire to a substance incidents happened in New Salem between Feb. 25 and April 21, 2019.
