AMHERST, N.S. – Kids ran, walked, jumped, danced, and formed conga lines during Terry Fox Run at Spring Street Academy Elementary School in Amherst.

The 417 kids who took part in the event raised $523.10 for the Terry Fox Foundation.

Canadians celebrated the 38-year anniversary of the Terry Fox Run in 2018, and Spring Street Academy teacher Daren White has been co-ordinating Terry Fox Runs at schools since 1988.

During the run, kids wore stickers with the name of people they know who have been affected by cancer and, after the run, they posted the name tags to a wall in the gymnasium.
