SACKVILLE, N.B. — The handiwork of local quilters will be on display once again this year and area residents are encouraged to come out and check out their fine craftsmanship.
Quilts of various colors, designs and sizes will be showcased at the Middle Sackville Baptist Church as the Sackville Quilters Guild hosts its biannual quilt show on May 11 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. This year’s event will feature the guild’s largest display yet, including displays in the gym, the entry, the sanctuary along with a special Christmas room.
On stage will be a very special showcase of the featured talents of the late Darlene Phinney, who was a founding member of the Sackville Quilters Guild.
Entries for the viewers’ choice award will be hung in the gym where the paid viewers will vote for their favourite quilt. There will be two vendors set up in the gym with lots of beautiful fabric and accessories for sale.
Tea, refreshments and sweets are included in the $5 entry fee. Children under 12 are free.
If you have a special quilt you would like displayed, please call Greta at 536-2882.
