Rural ERs in Cumberland County closed again this week

AMHERST, N.S. – Cumberland County’s three rural hospitals will all be impacted by emergency room closures in the coming days.

At All Saints Collaborative Emergency Centre in Springhill, the ER will be closed for 24 hours beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday until 8 a.m. New Year’s Day Tuesday.

It will also be closed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

In Pugwash, the ER at the North Cumberland Memorial Collaborative Emergency Centre will be closed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. every day this coming week beginning Monday, Dec. 31, and continuing through Saturday, Jan. 5.

The ER at the South Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre will be closed Tuesday, Wednesady and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

These closures are because there is no physician to provide medical coverage.
