The task of rebuilding the Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers took another step forward on Saturday.

The Amherst Rambler Alumni Scholarship Society is preparing to announce its cancellation of the annual golf tournament on August 8th, past-chairman Keith Blenkhorn informed the Amherst News Thursday morning.

“We need between about ten more committed volunteers and no one is coming forward,” Blenkhorn said.

Blenkhorn said he would like to leave the door open for more volunteers to come forward, but time is running out and the committee will be cancelling the fundraiser if things don’t turn around in the coming days.

“We feel really sorry as there will be eight-to-ten athletes who won’t received bursaries next year,” he said.

Blenkorn says he can be contacted at 902-667-0889 if anyone has any concerns or solutions.
