Asseltine gets six months custody for trafficking

Kimberly Joy Asseltine, 58, of Penobsquis, N.B. was sentenced to six months in jail for trafficking in hydromorphone.

She was also given three months probation following her term in jail, ordered to provide a DNA sample and is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition for 10 years.

Asseltine must also pay a $200 victim surcharge fee and complete 100 hours of community service work by Aug. 2, 2020.

The incident occurred Nov. 3, 2016 in Springhill.

Hicks sentenced for breaching recognizance

Paul Dean Hicks, 46, of Clifford Street, Amherst, was given a one-day jail sentence, time served by his day in court, after pleading guilty to failing to comply with a recognizance order.

Hicks is not permitted to be at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre unless it’s a true emergency.

The incident occurred Nov. 28, 2018 in Upper Nappan

Wood given eight months probation

Tyler Gordon Wood, 29, of Thomson Road was given probation for eight months with reporting and conditions after pleading guilty to possession of less than three kilograms of cannabis marijuana.

He is also prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition for 10 years.

The incident occurred Aug. 21, 2018 in Thomson Road.
