UPPER NAPPAN – Each year the Cumberland Health Care Auxiliary raises tens of thousands of dollars to purchase equipment for the Cumberland Health Care Centre.

Last year was no exception.

On March 15, during the auxiliaries annual general meeting, cheques totaling $50,00 were presented to auxiliary treasurer Alda Fromm.

The money was raised between March 2018 and March 2019.

Most of the money, more than $40,000, was raised at the 2018 Highland Fling, with most of the remaining balance coming from the regional hospital gift shop and the coffee shop.

Planning is now underway for the 37th annual Highland Fling, which is May 11 at the Amherst Curling Club.

The auxiliary also selected their 2019 executive during the AGM.

The new executive is as follows:

President – Greta Terris

Vice-President – Ida Roode

Past President – Betty Duizer-Logan

Treasurer – Ida Fromm

Secretary – Vera Faulkner

The auxiliary is always looking for new members and encourage people to get involved.
