On Thursday, June 21, Cumberland Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU), assisted by Amherst Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on Dickey Street in Amherst. As a result of the search, a significant quantity of methamphetamine, oxycodone, marijuana and contraband tobacco were seized.
Douglas Anthony Montrose, 47, of Amherst, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, oxycodone and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. Montrose appeared in Amherst Provincial Court on Thursday where he was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to return to Amherst Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on June 28.
The investigation is ongoing.
