Man dies after being struck by pickup truck on Cabot Trail

A man was killed early Monday morning when he was struck by a pickup truck on the Cabot Trail.

Ingonish RCMP responded to the scene in Ingonish Beach at 3:55 a.m. The man, 31, died at the scene after he was struck by a Ford F-150.

A single lane detour was in place while an RCMP collision analyst collected evidence. The Department of Transportation tweeted at noon on Monday that the road was expected to be fully reopened at about 5 p.m.
