SPRINGHILL, N.S. – Fat Floyd’s Pizzeria was recently named the 2018 Business of the Year during the Springhill & Area Chamber of Commerce annual general meeting at the Dr. Carson & Marion Murray Community Centre in Springhill.

Opening in 2003, Fat Floyd’s Pizzeria is owned and operated by Floyd and Tammy Beaton.

Cumberland County councillor Maryanne Jackson talked about the business before presenting the award to Tammy and her son Christopher Beaton.

“Tammy, Floyd, Christopher and Austin Beaton have been providing a wonderful service to the community of Springhill,” said Jackson. “Tammy and Floyd have put a lot of energy into running their family business and renovating and improving their property.”

Jackson said Fat Floyds always provides the best service.

“You always feel welcome when you go into Fat Floyds. It’s a great place to hear what’s going on in the community and to be entertained by Floyd and the crew.”

Jackson hopes Fat Floyd’s continues to provide great food and customer service for many years to come.

“I’m hoping that, some day, when Tammy and Floyd do decide to retire that Christopher will continue to operate the family business and we can continue to enjoy their awesome food.”

Fat Floyds is located at 4 Junction Road in Springhill. Their food can be ordered at the restaurant or by calling 902-597-2782.
