PUGWASH, N.S. – The Cumberland County 4-H Rally was held at Pugwash District High School on March 30.

4-H Clubs from throughout Cumberland County competed in various public speaking and demonstration competitions, as well as the woodsman skills competition.

The public speaking and demonstration winners are as follows:

Clover bud poster - Brody Kouwenberg, Linden

Jr. hand-drawn poster - Keegan Kouwenberg, Linden

Jr. computer-generated poster - Spohie Mazur, Linden

Jr. speaker - Grady Rushton, CountryView

Intermediate speaker - Hope Rushton, Linden

Sr. Speaker - Maria Duynisveld, BVCM

Jr. Single Demo - Maggie Broughton, Linden

Sr. Single Demo - Madiya Patriquin, Double 'D'

Jr. Double Demo - Gavin McEachern and Annora Fox, CountryView

Sr. Double Demo - Sydney Moore and Abigail Haynes, CountryView

Woodsman team winners are as follows:

Jr. Woodsman skills team - CountryView 1

Sr. woodsman skills team – Ro-Win-Lea

The winners of the public speaking and demonstrations, as well as the 4H ambassador competition, move on to the regional rally which is held April 13 at the Oxford Regional Education Centre.

The woodsman teams and the posters move on to the 4H weekend in Bible Hill at the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus in May.
