Couple gets help from Red Cross following fire near Tatamagouche

TATAMAGOUCHE, N.S. – Two people were displaced by a midday fire Monday that gutted their mini-home along a rural road about 15 kilometres west of Tatamagouche.

Disaster volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross arranged emergency lodging for the woman and man. They will also provide support over the next few days, including purchases of winter clothing and food.

Neither person was injured due to the fire, which was reported shortly after 1 p.m., Monday at 2028 Lake Road.
