AMHERST, N.S. - A 34-year-old Amherst man has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking.

Justin John Arseneau of Kent Drive is also prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition for a 10-year period and must pay a fine and a victim surcharge.

The incident occurred Nov. 5, 2016 in Amherst.

Norissa Virginia Lynn Epton, 22, of Kent Drive was sentenced to two years in prison for possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking.

She also received concurrent six-month sentences for possession of cannabis marijuana for the purpose of trafficking and possession of cannabis resin for the purpose of trafficking.

Epton is also prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition for 10 years and must pay a fine and a victim surcharge.

The incidents occurred April 11, 2018 in Amherst.

Epton was also given concurrent six-month sentences for the included offence of possession of hydromorphone, unlawful possession of cannabis marijuana and unlawful possession of dextroamphetamine.

She was also fined and ordered to pay a fine and a victim surcharge.
