AMHERST, N.S. – The 258 Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Amherst held their 42nd annual ceremonial review June 1 at the Col. James Layton Ralston Armoury in Amherst.
Awards presented to cadets at the 2018-2019 awards include the following:
The Lord Strathcona Award – Sabastian DiMichele.
This award is the highest award that is bestowed on a cadet in recognition of exemplary performance in community involvement, physical training, and cadet training.
Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence – Isaiah Jones
This award is in recognition of individual endeavours that meet or enhance the aims of the cadet movement. This includes completing mandatory training, participating in community service.
Cadet Award of Excellence – Jordan Jones
This award is in recognition of exemplary dress, deportment, knowledge and leadership.
Most Promising First Year Cadet – Salem DiMichele
Top Second Year Cadet – Evan Aylward and Lawson Gilbert
Top Phase Three Cadet Award (Top third year) – Jessie LeBlanc
Michael Walsh Award (Outstanding band member) – Shannon O’Brien and Sebastian Dimichele
Most Improved Cadet Award – Jordan Carr
Endeavour Award – Camdyn Morris
George Evans Award (Most perseverance) – Shannon O’Brien and Tyler Rowe
Senior Cadet Proficiency Award – Sebastian DeMichele
