Montrose sentenced for more than three years custody

Douglas Anthony Montrose, 48, of Prince Arthur Street, Amherst, was sentenced in court on Monday to a total of three years and four months federal custody after pleading guilty to several charges.

He was sentenced to two years custody, minus 219 days of remand time, and a lifetime firearms prohibition after pleading guilty to trafficking methamphetamine.

The incident occurred Jan. 9, 2018, in Amherst.

Montrose was sentenced to an additional six-months custody, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine.

The incident occurred May 10, 2018, in Amherst.

He was also sentenced to 30 days custody, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to failing to comply with a condition to reside at his residence unless permission to reside elsewhere was obtained from the court in advance, and for failing to comply with a condition to no to possess or consume a controlled substance as defined in the Controlled Drugs and Substance act, except in accordance with a physician’s prescription or legal authorization.

The incidents occurred May 10, 2018 in Amherst.

He was also sentenced to six-months custody, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to possessing oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking.

The incident occurred June 21, 2018.

Montrose was also sentenced to 30 days custody on each of three counts, consecutive to other sentences, after pleading guilty to failing to comply with a condition to not possess, alcohol, or other intoxicating substances without lawful excuse, failing to comply with a condition to keep the peace and be of good behavior and to not be involved in criminal behavior, and failing to comply with a condition to not possess or consume a controlled substance as defined in the Controlled Drugs and Substance act, except in accordance with a physician’s prescription or legal authorization.

The three incidents occurred June 21, 2018, in Amherst.

Doherty fined for possession of marijuana

Stephen George Doherty, 32, of Tidnish, was sentenced in court on Monday to a fine of $600, plus a $180 victim surcharge, after pleading guilty to possessing marijuana in an amount that does not exceed three kilograms.

The incident occurred Nov. 16, 2017, in Tidnish.

Tremblay sentenced for committing assault

Nicole Bonita Kathy Tremblay, 27, of Laplanche Street, Amherst, was sentenced in court on Monday to a conditional discharge, following nine months’ probation, plus conditions, after pleading guilty to committing assault.

The incident occurred Jan. 16, 2018, in Amherst.
