Epton pleads guilty to drug charges

Norissa Virginia Lynn Epton, 22, of Kent Drive, Amherst was ordered to return for sentencing on Oct. 9 at 1:30 p.m. after pleading guilty to the included offence of unlawful possession of hydromorphone and unlawful possession of cannabis marijuana and methamphetamine.

A pre-sentence report was requested.

The incidents occurred Nov. 5, 2016 in Amherst.

Fraser to be sentenced for theft

Alex Daniel Fraser, 23, of Junction Road, Springhill was ordered to return for sentencing on Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. after pleading guilty to stealing a bottle of Captain Morgan spiced rum from the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation of a value not exceeding $5,000.

A pre-sentence report was requested.

The incident occurred March 10, 2018 in Springhill.

Using marked diesel fuel nets fine

Steven Troy Gaudet, 42, of St. Nicholas, P.E.I. was fined $500 or seven days in jail after pleading guilty to using marked diesel fuel in a vehicle in contravention of the Revenue Act of Nova Scotia.

He was also issued a $150 victim surcharge.

The incident occurred March 28, 2018 in Fort Lawrence.

Roberto fined for possessing stolen property

Lorenzo Roberto, 34, of LaPlanche Street, Amherst, was granted a conditional discharge following six months probation after pleading guilty to possession of stolen property – tobacco and cigarettes – of a value not exceeding $5,000.

He was also ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge.

The incident occurred Jan. 16, 2018 in Amherst.

Antigonish woman given probation for theft

Ashley Maria Severyns, 35, of Antigonish was granted a conditional discharge following 12 months probation after pleading guilty to stealing jewelry and clothing of a value not exceeding $5,000 from Guardian Drug Store.

She was ordered to pay a $100 victim surcharge.

The incident occurred March 1, 2017 in Springhill.

Wheaton convicted of assault

Joel Daniel Wheaton, 35, of Fort Lawrence Road, Fort Lawrence, was placed on probation for six months and issued a $100 victim surcharge after pleading guilty to assault.

The incident occurred Nov. 27, 2017 in Amherst.
