Brown gets probation for assault, theft charges

Jay William Kenneth Brown, 28, of Pugwash Junction Road was given 18 months probation with reporting and conditions after being found guilty of several assault charges and a pair of theft charges.

Brown was charged with assault with a weapon – a chair, threatening to use a weapon – a knife – while committing an assault, unlawful confinement, uttering a death threat, assault, stealing currency of a value not exceeding $5,000 and stealing an iPhone of a value not exceeding $5,000.

He was ordered to provide a DNA sample, is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or explosive substances for five years, must pay restitution before Aug. 19, 2019 and a $600 victim surcharge.

The incidents occurred Jan. 25, 2017 in Linden.

Davis gets conditional sentence for assault with a hockey stick

Brandon Cole Davis, 31, of Blue Sac Road, Lower Five Islands, was given a 90-day conditional sentence order followed by 12 months probation with reporting and conditions after pleading guilty to using a hockey stick to commit an assault.

He is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms or ammunition for five years and must pay a $100 victim surcharge.

The incident occurred Nov. 5, 2017 in Amherst.

Doucette receives probation for assault charges

Jaselynn Kayla Kathleen Doucette, 23, of Dickey Street, Amherst was given 12 months probation with reporting and conditions after pleading guilty to assault and committing mischief by damaging a pair of glasses of a value of less than $5,000.

She was also ordered to pay a $200 victim surcharge.

The incidents occurred between June 30 and July 1, 2018 in Amherst.
