AMHERST – Amherst Police have charged four following a break-in to a downtown convenience store on Tuesday.

Police responded to an alarm at the Snow White Landry and Convenience at approximately 7 a.m., discovering that tobacco products had been stolen from the store. Culprits smashed a rear door with a hammer to gain entry.

Soon after, four were taken into custody with two 16-year-old males charged with break and enter, theft and damage to property, while two adults, ages 33 and 34, were charged with possession of stolen property.

All four will appear in court at a later date.
