TRURO, N.S. — Burton Cummings will be in Truro to help ring in the New Year.

The rock legend will perform at the Rath-Eastlink Community Centre on Tuesday, Dec. 31.

As a member of The Guess Who, Burton’s hits include These Eyes, American Woman, No Time, Laughing, share the Land, Albert Flasher, Clap for the Wolfman, and Dancin’ Fool.

The band was the first Canadian group to reach #1 on the Billboard charts, holding that spot for three weeks.

The singer-songwriter began performing solo in 1976, and his hits included Stand Tall, I’m Scared, My Own Way to Rock, I Will Play a Rhapsody, Timeless Love, Break It to Them Gently, Dream of a Child, Fine State of Affairs, Love Dreams and You Saved My Soul.

His album Dream of a Child, released in 1978, became the first quadruple platinum-selling album by a Canadian artist.

He’s taken part in sold out tours, starred in television specials and earned five Juno Awards between 1977 and 1980 for best male vocalist and best album.

The Truro show is for ages 19 and older, with the doors opening at 830 p.m. and the show starting at 930 p.m.

Tickets start at $59.75 plus tax and fees and can be purchased in person now at the RECC welcome desk.
