Hey animal lovers this is your old pal Barnaby coming at you from the Lillian Allbon Cumberland County Animal Shelter on Smith Road.

Do you love to dance? I can do a mean shuck on by back legs! The shelter will hold the Tails And Ales Beerfest on Saturday, Sept. 22.

The Amherst Curling Club will be rockin' from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with dance band Derailed.

Doors open at 8 p.m.

Tickets are $12 and are available at the door and from shelter board members and volunteers. Must be 19-year-old to attend. Enjoy a 50/50 and all proceeds will go to the L.A. Animal Shelter. Get your friends together and come out and party for a great cause.

Congratulations to cat RC as he went home with his new forever family. Yay for cat Wendy and kitten Josie as they were adopted together. Congrats to cat Roseanne as she has a new family.

Keep watching our Facebook page as we announce adoptions as soon as they happen! We also love to post update pics sent by families of cats and dogs in their new homes. The shelter is open daily to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. or you can call us at 902-661-PAWS.

Is your business interested in advertising in the 2019 shelter calendar? We have five spots available for banner ads. Ads are $100 each and are tax deductible.

That means your ad hangs on people's walls for a whole month! This year's theme is Up Close and Personal and once again our calendar will feature amazing photographs of shelter animals by Meagan Cormier of Gallery 8.

Our popular calendars will be sold in early fall for $20 each and they usually sell out by Christmas.

If interested please send a private message to the shelter Facebook Page.

That's all for now, until next time keep your tail in the air, your heart open wide and don't forget us here at the LA Animal Shelter. We are the little shelter with the big heart.
