For 20 years, Relay For Life, the Canadian Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event, has united communities across Canada with teams of family, friends and colleagues joining together to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those we’ve lost and commit to raising funds to fight all types of cancer.
When the ones you love are diagnosed with or die from cancer, friends and family often want to do something to help or remember them. Relay for Life is your chance to do this. On Saturday, June 9, the community of Amherst will be cheering on survivors, walking the track, and passing the baton, all part of an unforgettable Relay for Life experience.
Fundraising enables change and we can all have a part in advancing the cancer cause through our generosity. Monies raised through Relay for Life support the most promising cancer research and vital support services for people with cancer and their families.
Donations also support services such as the Susan K. Roberts Lodge that Gives, located in Halifax, which provides a home away from home free of charge for Nova Scotians undergoing cancer treatment and other services that help local patients and their families during a difficult time. Thirty-two patients and guests from Cumberland County have stayed 218 nights at the Lodge That Gives, because of the impactful funds raised at Relay for Life.
With nearly one in two Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime and a nearly 35 per cent surge in cancer cases anticipated by 2030 due to our growing and aging population, now more than ever, we need your generous support.
We invite you to join us for this incredible community celebration of life, remembrance and dedication to fight back. Support your loved ones by registering or donating at relayforlife.ca! For more information on how you can be a part of Amherst Relay for Life, email email@example.com.
Cancer changes everything. So can you.
