There has been a noticeable chill in the morning and evening air this week. Wood smoke is curling out of several chimneys and residents are beginning to prepare for a Maritime winter.
Those who embrace the snow are surely dreaming of snow-covered wood trails, ski hills, and softly falling snowflakes.
Two Pumpkin People have landed and taken up residence on the FPW Fire Hall field. A witch, very colourfully dressed, and a Mother with child have arrived. Hopefully, they will have company soon as community spirit is in great supply, here.
The regular monthly meeting of the Shore Drive Community Development Association will be held at the D.R. hall on Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. All current members and anyone interested in joining are welcome to attend.
The Shore Drive Association's annual Shop My Closet event is set to take place on Thursday, Nov. 9 at the FPW Fire Hall. Warm, winter clothing will be available at no cost.
Donated items of clothing may still be dropped off at Dad's Country Market.
I do not have a date on a flu clinic yet, but will post it when I have a confirmation.
The War Memorial Trust/planning committee is working on finalizing plans for Remembrance Day.
I will post a report in next week's column. Please call me if you will be laying a wreath this yearso I can compile a list for the ceremony.
I am looking forward to the World Series, which begins this week – the Los Angeles Dodgers versus Houston Astros.
