Even though you wouldn’t know it from the weather, it is summertime. At the library summer means Summer Reading Clubs, which you learned all about last week from Fiona. This year Cumberland Public Libraries is doing something extra special called Cumberland Reads.
Cumberland Reads will run from June 15- Aug. 31 and you can be involved in a number of ways:
If you already participate in one of our Summer Reading Clubs, you are automatically entered to win prizes for Cumberland Reads
Tag us on Social Media and use the hashtag #getcaughtreading, for another chance at prizes. Send us pictures of books you loved and want to recommend or pictures of your favorite summer reading spot, whether it’s paperback at the beach or an audiobook in the car. Cumberland Public Libraries is on Facebook (@CumberlandPublicLibraries), Twitter(@CumberlandPL) or on Instagram (@cumberland_pl
If you see the library around the County at events this summer, show us a library card or what you are currently reading and you can get one of our exclusive library buttons.
In promotion of Cumberland Reads, Denise and I will be doing a weekly radio spot on CFTA, called My Two Favorite Librarians until the end of the summer. We will be talking all about books, one of our favorite topics!
Check it out if you want to know what we are currently reading, some of our favorite books and what we are looking forward to reading this summer. You can also ask us questions on social media like “what do I read next?”
Or maybe you would like to give us some book recommendations. My Two Favorite Librarians airs Mondays at 9 a.m.
If you have already planned your summer reading list, join us in Cumberland Reads! There will be prizes throughout the summer, and don’t forget about our exclusive library buttons.
