It has still felt more like winter than spring, lately. I have found it necessary to have a wood fire in the mornings and evenings. I enjoy winter but I am ready for it to warm up so that I can go outside to do some yard work, go for some beach walks, set up the barbecue, etc.

On Friday, April 20 (this week), Chair Tai Chi resumes for six weeks at the FPW Fire Hall from 1-2 p.m. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch and socialize in the hour before the session begins. There is no cost but you may make a donation if you wish. The exercises are gentle, low impact, and would be helpful to seniors, stroke victims or anyone with mobility issues. You may call 902-348-2105 or 902-348-2939 to gather more information or to register. These sessions are hosted by the Shore Drive Community Development Association and have been very well received.

Please mark May 5 on your calendars for our annual community clean up, with support from the Shore Drive association and the county. You may choose an area on your own to clean or drop over to the FPW Fire Hall at 9 a.m. to select a designated area and pick up gloves, bags, safety vests, etc. Bagged garbage may be left along the roadside for later pick up. A dumpster, provided by the county, will also be placed on the FPW site for community use.

I am enjoying playoff hockey and MLB baseball.

The Foxy Lady is out of news for now. Have a great week, everyone.
