Community Christmas dinner to be held Dec. 3

The community Christmas tree at the war memorial park is beautifully lit. It was nice to gather for the lighting and for hot chocolate and cookies afterwards.

Thanks go out to the community-minded folks who put up the tree, decorated it, and looked after the treats at the FPW Fire Hall. Since we are a collection of rural folks, along the Parrsboro shore, it is nice to support each other’s events.

On Sunday, Dec. 3, the Shore Drive Community Development Association will hold its community Christmas dinner at the FPW Fire Hall. Doors will open around 4 p.m., with the meal being served around 5 p.m. Call Sharon Benjamin for tickets 902-348-2105 at $20. per person.

Dale Hatfield will be taking shoppers to Moncton, N.B. on Monday, Dec. 4, leaving Port Greville at 8 a.m. Call Sharon Benjamin for more information.

Living Christmas Tree will perform at Grace United church on Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Please go early to secure a seat.

Amber Lewis is coordinating the childrens' Christmas party, to be held on Saturday, Dec. 16. If you have a child aged 12 and under, and live between Wharton and Brookville, you can get more information from Amber (children must be registered soon).

Dave and Friends will perform Christmas music at the Diligent River hall on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. Admission is a free will offering.

The Foxy Lady did manage to get most of the outdoor lights up on the weekend. Soon it will be time to take a drive around the village to check out the festive decorations.
