Annual community yard sale planned for July 9

It has been a hot, humid week. Some residents are worried about their wells as we are in need of rain.

The Shore Drive Community Development Association is holding a Canada Day celebration this Friday, July 1 at the FPW Fire Hall from 12-3 p.m. Come and enjoy a barbecue, cake, childrens' games, and a cake auction at 2 p.m.

My grandson Travis celebrated his 14th birthday this past week on June 23 and another grandson, Neale, will celebrate his 13th birthday on July 3. Happy Birthday, guys. May all your dreams come true.

Mark your calendar for the Shore Drive annual yard sale from Wharton-Brookville on Saturday, July 9. Sellers are encouraged to call Sharon Benjamin to register your name on the list of participants. After finding your yard sale bargains, drop over to the FPW Fire Hall for the Salad and Strawberry supper provided by the Anglican and United churches. Takeouts will be available from 4-4:30 p.m. and the supper is from 4:30-6 p.m. The cost is $12 per person. This is always a delicious supper with a variety of salads and strawberry shortcake.

Old Home Week in Parrsboro is set for July 13-16. This is a chance to help a valuable organization, the Parrsboro Lions Club, raise funds plus renew old friendships and enjoy the many activities, parade, rides, entertainment, raffles, etc.
