MacArthur, Thususka score two goals to pace offence

SUMMERSIDE – A four-goal second period sent the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals on their way Thursday night.

The Capitals led the Amherst Ramblers 1-0 after the first period, and then opened up a 5-1 advantage after 40 minutes en route to a 7-1 win in the MHL (Maritime Junior Hockey League) pre-season game.
The result leaves both teams with a record of 2-1 (won-lost).The Caps will make a return trip to Amherst to close out their exhibition schedule on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Pace offence
At Credit Union Place’s Ice Pad, third-year forward Brodie MacArthur scored two goals and added a pair of assists while fellow Summerside native Zach Thususka netted a brace to lead the Caps offensively. Thususka, coming off a two-point game in a 7-4 win over the Pictou County Crushers on Saturday, has recorded four points in the Caps’ last games.
TJ Shea (1-2), Brodie MacMillan (1-1) and Kallum Muirhead also scored while other assists were credited to Colby MacArthur (2), Cameron Roberts, Austin Taylor, Isaac Wilson, Kayden Peck and Josh MacDonald.
Cole Waugh, assisted by Casey Fox and Caleb Rich, netted the lone Ramblers’ goal.
Dominik Tmej earned the goaltending win over Joel Goguen.
The game’s three stars were:
1. Zach Thususka (Caps), 2. Dominik Tmej (Caps), 3. Brodie MacArthur (Caps).
