LEWISVILLE, N.B. – Caleb Campbell scored in overtime to lift the Cumberland County Peewee Bombers to a 3-1 win over the Riverview Blues to capture the championship at the 2017 Lewisville Lighting Peewee Recreational Hockey Tournament here Nov. 26.
Campbell also had an assist in the game for Cumberland County while Jasper Bushen also added a goal and an assist and Aiden McCulley scored once.
Kyle Mullen and Mason Henwood scored for Riverview, which forced overtime with a third period goal.
The Bombers got into the final earlier Sunday with a 7-2 win over the Cole Harbour Colts.
Caleb Campbell scored three times and added an assist for the Bombers, who led 3-2 after one period, while Tyler Lunn-Donelle scored twice and chipped in an assist. Aiden McCulley and Riley MacDonald also scored for Cumberland County.
Jaxon Reynolds and Keegan Mosher added assists.
Joseph Paul Edwards and Noah Heatley scored for the Colts.
In round robin play, the Bombers defeated the Moncton Hawks 6-2 with Jaxon Reynolds and Luke Allen each scoring two goals and Aiden McCulley and Keegan Mosher each scoring once.
Karter Lewis, Remington Butts, Aiden McCulley and Taylor Lunn-Donelle added assists.
Issac Smith and Jacob Waugh scored for Moncton.
The Bombers also defeated Lewisville and played the KV Hawks in round robin play but statistics from those games were not available.
