AMHERST – The Hants East Rural High School Tigers won the 2017 Vikings Senior Girls Basketball Tantramar Chev Classic tournament Saturday at Amherst Regional High School.
The Tigers won the tournament with a 72-59 win over the Tantramar High School Titans.
The Viking Senior Girls finished the tournament with a record of 1-2.
They opened the tournament on Friday with a 50-41 loss to the Tantramar Titans.
Game 1
Amherst vs. Tantramar
Olivia Scott scored 15 points for the Viking Senior Girls.
Darcy Gould added six, Emma Gould and Tameka Hussey scored five each, Ceilidh Bennett, Lauren Furlong and Emma Bickerton scored three each, and Jemma Todoschuk scored one point.
Game 2
Amherst vs. South Colchester Academy
On Friday night, Amherst beat SCA 81-28.
Olivia Scott scored 10 points, Bennett and Gould scored nine each, Chloe Stubbert and Hussey scored eight each, Todoschuk and Bickerton scored six points each, and Becca Fromm and Furlong scored four each.
Game 3
Amherst vs. Lower Sackville
Saturday afternoon, Amherst lost 56-48 to the Sackville High School Kingfishers.
Furlong scored 18 points, Bennett scored seven, Scott scored six, Stubbert scored five, Gould and Emma Gould scored four each, and Sharon McCrossin scored two.

The two-day tournament features five other teams. They are: The Tantramar Regional High School Titans (TRHS), the South Colchester Academy Wolves (SCA), The Three Oaks Senior High School Axemen, (TOSH) the Lower Sackville High School Kingfishers (SHS), and the Hants East Rural High School Tigers (HERH).
