AMHERST, N.S. – Hayden Crocket, Burke Beed and Mandel Nickerson each doubled as the Mixers defeated the Lions 3-2 to take the second game of their best-of-five Amherst Little League final series on Wednesday.

Connor O’Brien singled for the Mixers, who can clinch the league championship with a victory on Monday.

Kyler Edwards had two singles and a double for the Lions wh ile Gregor Millard and Reece MacDonald each singled once.

Aiden McBurnie threw a five-hitter to earn the win for the Mixers. He gave up two walks and struck out 13.

Nolan McNally gave up four hits for the Lions, walked three and struck out 15.

In the consolation series, the Carter’s Cresting Cubs got two home runs from Kieran Sears in a 6-0 win over the Y’s Guys.

The win gives the Cubs a 2-0 series lead.

Sears gave up one hit on the mound for the Cubs with one walk and 16 strike outs.

Jaxon Reynolds singled for the Cubs with Aaden McAloney hitting a double for the Y’s Guys.

McAloney gave up three hits, walked six and struck out eight.

The Cubs lead the best-of-five consolation series 2-0 and can wrap it up on Monday.
