Ramblers move into second place with win over Wildcats

AMHERST – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers doubled the Valley Wildcats 6-3 Saturday night at Amherst Stadium.

Brady Griffin-Hefford scored two goals and one assist in the win, and Jordan King added one goal and one assist.

Layton Parsons, Cole Waugh and Will Lafford scored the remaining three Ramblers goals.

Felix LeBlanc added two assists, and Liam Conrad, Will Bower, Brock McEwen, Matt Sartoris and Caleb Rich had one assist each.

Goaltending

Oliver Troop played in goal for the Ramblers, stopping 22 of the 25 shots he faced. His teammates had 42 shots on the Wildcats net.

Attendance

Game attendance was 580.

Standings

With the win, the Ramblers jump into second place in the Eastlink South Division standings. They have 60 points, two points ahead of the South Shore Lumberjacks, and seven points behind the Yarmouth Mariners.

Ramblers vs. Weeks Crushers

The Ramblers were in New Glasgow Thursday night where they beat the Pictou County Weeks Crushers 4-2.

Conrad scored two goals and one assist, King one goal and two assists, and Bower had one goal.

Lafford added two helpers, while Parsons, Dawson Grenier, and Bradley Dawe had one assist each.

Goaltending

Joel Goguen played in net. He faced 30 shots. The Ramblers had 25 shots on the Crushers netminder Matt Normore.

Attendance

Game attendance was 770.

Upcoming Games

The Ramblers travel to Miramichi on Friday for a game against the Timberwolves, and are home Saturday at 7 p.m. to host the Edmunston Blizzard.
