AMHERST – The Amherst CIBC Wood Gundy Ramblers lost 5-4 in a shootout to the Summerside Western Capitals Saturday night at Amherst Stadium.
Jordan King led the Ramblers with two goals and one assist, and had several prime scoring chances in the overtime period but was unable to get the puck past Summerside goaltender Dominik Tmej.
Caleb Rich added one goal and one assist for Amherst, Jacob Myra had one goal, and Cole Waugh scored two assists.
Dawson Grenier, Bradley Dawe, Dayne Chasse and Layton Parsons added one assist each.
Cam Roberts scored the game-winning goal for Summerside in the shootout.
TJ Shea, the Maritime Hockey League’s point leader, added to his tally with one goal and two assists against Amherst.
Shots on goal was 42-39 for Amherst.
Game attendance was 788.
Standings
The Ramblers remain in third place in the Eastlink South Division with 30 points. The South Shore Lumberjacks and Yarmouth Mariners both have 39 points, and the Truro Bearcats have 27 points.

Jordan King is second on the MHL point-board with 39 points, 16 goals and 23 assists in 23 games.
Summerside’s TJ Shea leads the league with 55 points, 23 goals and 32 assists in 25 games.

The Ramblers host the Mariners Saturday at 7 p.m. at Amherst Stadium.
It is their last game before the Christmas Break.
The Ramblers are on the road to play the Valley Wildcats on Dec. 29, and return home Dec. 31, for a Sunday afternoon game against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers. The New Years Eve game starts at 2 p.m.
