Colts lose to Penguins, Thunder
SPRINGHILL – The Cumberland/Colchester Colts lost 3-2 at home on Sunday to the East Hants Penguins.
The Chandler MacKinnon scored in the first period to give the Colts a 1-0 lead, East Hants scored one in the second period and one in the third period to go up 2-1, and then Dylan Albright scored for the Colts with 56 seconds left in the game.
Jeremie Duguay assisted on the MacKinnon goal and Brandon Fitzpatrick on the Albright goal.
Riley Girouard played in goal for the Colts. Each team had 30 shots on goal.
The Colts lost 7-3 to the Eastern Shore Thunder Saturday at the Eastern Shore Community Centre.
Ryan Bishop scored two goals and one assist for the Colts and Anthony Cormier-Gardiner scored one goal.
Kenzee Rushton had two assists, and Chris Mollton and Dylan Albright had one assist each.
Girouard stopped 49 of the 56 shots he faced in goal for the Colts. His teammates had 20 shots on Thunder netminder Matthew MacEwan.
The Colts are on the road to play the Avon River Rats on Friday, and then return home Sunday at 2 p.m. to host the Spryfield Attack. The game starts at 2 p.m.
Midget A Ramblers beat Bearcats
AMHERST – The Cumberland Scotiabank Midget A Ramblers beat the Truro Midget A Bearcats 6-2 Sunday afternoon at Amherst Stadium.
Zach Chatfield opened up the scoring for the Ramblers in the first period of passes from Jordan Harrison and MacKenzie Comeau.
Jackson Comeau scored an unassisted goal in the second period, followed by a goal from Tanner Bowen. Riley MacKenzie and Cal Hoeg assisted on the Bowen goal.
Riley MacKenzie added a goal in the third period with assists from Bowen and Hoeg. Bowen scored with an assist from Hoeg, and Chatfield scored an unassisted goal.
Cumberland AA Bantam Ramblers lose to Bearcats
SPRINGHILL – The Cumberland Bantam AA Ramblers lost 5-2 to the Truro AA Bantam Bearcats Saturday in Springhill.
Jayden Matheson scored one goal and one assist and Ty Ingraham had one goal. Mattix McBurnie and Noah Harrison had one assist each.
McBurnie scores hat trick in Ramblers win
AMHERST – Aidan McBurnie scored three goals and one assist in the Cumberland Peewee AA Ramblers 5-4 win over the West Hants Pee Wee AA’s Saturday at Amherst Stadium.
Kieran Sears and Ethan Rose scored one goal each and Burke Beed had an assist.
Phoenix Remington got the win in goal.
