Colts in Springhill Friday and Sunday

AMHERST – The Cumberland/Colchester Colts start the New Year with three Junior C Hockey League games this weekend, including two at home.

On Friday they’re at the Richard Calder Arena in Springhill at 7:30 p.m. to face off against the Avon River Rats.

They’re on the road to Spryfield on Saturday for a 7 p.m. contest against the Attack, and then on Sunday they return home for a 2 p.m. game against the Eastern Shore Thunder.

The Colts are coming off two losses before the Christmas break, losing 11-3 to Spryfield and 6-5 to the River Rats.

Noah Gordon had one goal and one assist at home against Spryfield, and Brandon Fitzpatrick and Aaron Sock had one goal each.

Jeremie Duguay and Jacey LeBlanc added one assist each.

Goaltender Riley Girouard faced 68 shots in goal, and the Colts had 35 shots on the Spryfield net.

Chandler MacKinnon and Duguay scored one goal and one assist each in their 6-5 loss to the River Rats, and LeBlanc, Anthony Cormier-Gardner and Stone Millier scored one goal each.

Dylan Albright added two assists, and Kenzee Rushton, along with Fitzpatrick and Sock, added one assist each.

Girouard faced 26 shots, and his teammates had 22 shots on the River Rats net.
