Aerials athletes return from Saint John

AMHERST – Gymnasts from the Aerials Gymnastics Club competed at the Fundy Gymnastics Invitational last weekend in Saint John, N.B.

The girls did really well on the beam, said Aerials coach Michelle Landry. “Imogen (Quinn) finished first on the beam, so she stood out.”

Emma Sjanic competed in a higher division for the first time in Saint John.

“Emma did really well on the vault, finishing second.”

The teams next competition is Feb. 16 at the Taiso meet in Lower Sackville.

“The team will work on things they need to work on until then,” said Landry.

The from the Fundy meet are as follows:

Jessica Landry – 8th vault; 2nd bars; 3rd beam; 4th overall.

Imogen Quinn – 6th vault; 1st beam.

Juliana LeBlanc – 7th vault; 6th bars; 8th beam; 8th overall.

Kirsten Lawrence – 5th vault; 3rd bars; 2nd beam; 4th floor; 4th overall.

Emma Sjanic – 2nd vault, 5th bars, 3rd beam, 5th floor, 5th overall.

Mikayla Horton - 6th vault, 6th beam.
