AMHERST – The Aerials Gymnastics Club recently hosted their annual The March Break Invitational at Amherst Regional High School.
“The meet went well. We had some stressful moments with the weather but, like most gymnastics meets, people braved the weather and came through and it was a success,” said Aerials coach Michelle Landry.
It was Kirsten Lawrence’s first time competing at the Open 8 level.
“She did really well in Level 8. I was really proud of her,” said Landry. “She hit most of her routines and she will probably stay at Level 8 next year.”
The team is now preparing for the provincial championships, which are April 6 to 8 at the Titans Gymnastics and Trampoline Club in Dartmouth.
“With Easter coming up this weekend they bumped it ahead, so there’s an extra week of training,” said Landry.
Landry finished by thanking all the sponsors and volunteers who helped make the meet a success.
