The Hastings resident and graduate of the Cumberland County Minor Hockey Association and the Cumberland County Blues of the Nova Scotia Hockey League has been named this week’s Pro-Ambitions Hockey Rookie of the Week honors by Hockey East for her performance this past weekend.

The University of Maine goalie saw 36 shots in which she saved 34 of them with a win against Number 5 Boston College Saturday in Auburn.

Friday afternoon against Merrimack, Jackson did not get a decision but came into the game in relief in the second period and stopped the remaining six shots the Warriors sent her way.

Against the Eagles on Saturday she started the game and stopped 28 of 30 shots in her first career victory for the Black Bears, ending Boston College's 53-game Hockey East undefeated streak, the longest in Hockey East history.

Jackson and the Black Bears will be back in action Oct. 28 in Providenc R.I., and Oct. 30 in Orono for their Halloween-Eve game.
