SPRINGHILL – The Cumberland County Blues wrapped up their pre-Christmas schedule with a 7-2 loss to the Pictou County Scotians Friday night in Springhill.

Alex Griffiths and Chad Miller scored for the Blues.

Griffiths scored with 11:38 left in the first period, tying the game 1-1.

With the Scotians up 4-1 in the second period, Miller scored with 6:21 left in the period, making it a 4-2 game.

Rueben MacKenzie assisted on Griffiths’ goal, and Landen Clarke and Hayden Boutilier assisted on the Miller goal.

The Blues enter the Christmas season with one win, 22 losses, and one overtime loss in 24 games.

They are at the bottom of the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League with three points.

The Cole Harbour Colts lead the league with 40 points.

The Blues next game is Jan. 5 in Antigonish to play the Bulldogs. They are then in Lower Sackville Jan. 8 to play the Sackville Blazers,

The Blues return home Jan. 12 to host the Bulldogs. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
