AMHERST – The Mixers have clinched the 2018 Amherst Little League regular season pennant.

The Mixers got two doubles from Mandel Nickerson and two singles and a double from Hayden Crocket in an 18-5 win over the Y’s Guys on Monday night.

Burke Beed doubled and singled for the Mixers with Jackson Reid banging out two singles and Kolby Purnell, Connor O’Brien and Riley MacDonald each hitting singles.

Aaden McAloney doubled for the Y’s Guys and Ashton VanSnick, Caleb Oulton, Jesse Goodwin and Chase Livingston each singled.

Hayden Crocket earned the pitching win giving up five hits, walking four and striking out 13 with Jesse Goodwin, Ashton Wilcox and Caleb Oulton pitching for the Y’s Guys. They gave up 12 hits, walked 12 and struck out six.

In the other game, the Carters Cresting Cubs nipped the Lions 11-10 with Ryan Wilson and Kieran Sears sharing the win on the mound for the Cubs. They gave up three hits, walked seven and struck out eight.

Kyler Edwards and Reece MacDonald pitched for the Lions. They surrendered 10 hits, walked four and struck out 12.

Kieran Sears and Ryan Wilson each doubled twice and singled, Jaxon Reynolds singled twice, Connor Hunter doubled, Sawyer Harvey singled and doubled and Brady Farrish singled.

Nathaniel Noiles doubled for the Lions with Reece MacDonald, Gregor Millard and Connor Masters each adding a single.

The Mixers will play the fourth-place Cubs in the league semifinals beginning on Monday while the second-place Lions will play the third-place Y’s Guys.

Both series are best-of-three and games begin at 6 p.m.
