Cubs claim little league pennant

AMHERST - The Cumberland Paving Cubs have won the Amherst Little League Baseball Association pennant.
The Cubs defeated the Lions 6-2 behind the complete-game, four-hit pitching of Logan Dowe. He gave up six walks and struck out 17.
Stephen Belyea suffered the loss giving up eight hits, walking six and striking out seven.
Mackenzie LeBlanc tripled for the Cubs with Dowe adding a double and a single.
Joe O'Dell singled twice with Willie Legere, Matthew McCrossin and Jason Morse each adding one single.
Belyea, Matt Beal, Tyler Landry and Carly Jackson each singled once for the Lions.
In other action, the Mixers defeated the Y's Guys 5-2 with Josh Lee picking up the pitching win for the Mixers. He gave up three hits, walked four and struck out 12.
Josh Pugsley took the loss gving up three hits, walking eight and striking out 13.
Emmitt Smith doubled for the Mixers with Brady Davis and Madison Colford each adding singles.
Dylan Baker and Pugsley doubled for the Y's Guys with Brad Black adding a single.
In B system play, the Cruisers defeated Sobeys 13-12.
Miranda March pitched for the winners while Kansas Hart and Charlie Johnson each pitched for Sobeys.
Zach Campbell tripled, March hit a single and a double, Bradley Gray singled three times, Lauren Chitty singled twice and Michael Perry singled once for the Cruisers.
Ben Manthorne singled twice and doubled, Cody Everill doubled and Hart, Johnson Jordan Dickeson and Ryan Pye each singled once.
In other action, the Jr. Y's Guys defeated the Cruisers 14-6.
Brandon Greeno was the winning pitcher while Josh Sperry and Josh Dwyer pitchd for the Cruisers.
Greg Johnson tripled for the Jr. Y's Guys while Sydney Skinner hit four singles. Lucas Robinson and Brandon Young each doubled and Greeno, Cameron Steeves, Mitchell Johnson and Terry White each singled once.
Sperry doubled twice for the Cruisers while Josh Laurette singled and doubled, Bradley Gray doubled and Matt Cheverie singled.
Sobeys defeated the Cruisers 13-8 with Charlie Johnson earning the win and Josh Dwyer suffering the loss.
Josh Sperry singled once and doubled twice for Sobeys with Johnson adding a double and Cody Everill and Ben Manthorne each adding one single.
Josh Laurette doubled and Taylor Chitty, Zach Campbell and Michael Perry each adding singles.
Quinn Colborne singled twice and doubled and Zack Cormier singled and doubled as Harrison's defeated the Jr. Y's Guys 15-7.
Brandon Young singled twice with Josh Sperry, Brandon Greeno and Brendan McCallum adding single hits.
Sydney Skinner and Mitchell Johnson each singled for the Jr. Y's Guys.
Sperry and Greeno pitched for Harrison's and Gary Johnson and Terry White pitched for the Jr. Y's Guys.
