AMHERST – The Amherst Athletics got a double from Graden Chitty and singles from Cole Stevens, Mike Farrell and Brandon Hicks in an 8-4 win over the Kentville Wildcats in Bluenose Midget AA Baseball League action at the Robb Complex on June 10.

Mackenzie Comeau pitched three innings and Josh Calder and Cole Stevens each pitched two for Amherst. They gave up just two hits while striking out six and walking six.

In the first game, Cal Hoeg went five innings and Graden Chitty two in a 12-3 win over the Wildcats.

They gave up five hits, walked three and struck out 15.

Brady Crowe and Cole Stevens each doubled and MacKenzie Comeau, Zach Boudreau and Josh Calder each singled.

The Athletics are home to Halifax on Sunday at the Robb Centennial Complex. The first game is at 11 a.m.

Casey, Campbell combine on no-hitter for Bantam Athletics.

In bantam action Ethan Casey and Nate Campbell combined on a no-hitter at the Amherst Athletics defeated the Nova Scotia Bantam Girls (Blue) 16-1 in Bluenose Bantam AA League action on June 9 in Amherst.

They walked three and struck out seven.

Ryan Rideout tripled, Matthew Hunter singled three times and Jayden Matheson each singled twice in the win.

Madden Miller, Julian MacDonald, Mackenzie Richard, Nate Campbell and Declan LeBlanc each singled once.

In the opening game, Matt Hunter singled twice and doubled, Ethan Casey doubled and tripled and Jayden Matheson hit three singles in a 17-7 win.

Ryan Rideout and Julian MacDonald each singled twice and Nate Campbell, Mattix McBurnie, Madden Miller and Declan LeBlanc each singled once.

Matt Hunter, Madden Miller and Declan LeBlanc pitched for Amherst. They gave up six hits, walked 13 and struck out 10.
