Allen’s goal in second overtime lifts Atom AA Ramblers to Montague tourney title

The Cumberland County Atom AA Ramblers defeated Pownal, P.E.I. 3-2 in double overtime to win the Atom AA championship at the Norseman Minor Hockey Tournament in Montague, P.E.I. on Jan. 13. MONTAGUE, P.E.I. – Will Allen’s short-handed goal early in the second overtime period lifted the Cumberland County Amherst Fire Department Ramblers to the Atom AA crown at the Norseman Minor Hockey Tournament on Jan. 14.

The goal gave the Ramblers a 3-2 win over the Pownal Red Devils in the title game.

Ethan Fraser and Sawyer Harvey also scored for Cumberland County while Chaz Lockhart had an assist.

Sam Wheatley and Raphael Tang replied for Pownal, which forced overtime with a third period goal.

In the semifinal, Chase Livingston had two goals and Mason Pyke one goal as the Ramblers nipped the Tatamagouche Titans 3-2 to advance to the final.

Braydon Brown, Brannan MacDonald nad Owen Wood added assists.

Carson Langille and Peyton McKay replied for Tatamatouche, which led 2-1 after one period and were tied 2-2 after two.

The Ramblers opened with a 2-1 win over the Tignish Aces with Will Allen scoring both goals and Owen Wood adding an assit.

Cameron Bernard scored for Tignish.

In their second game, the Ramblers got a hat-trick from Braydon Brown in a 6-0 win over Morell, P.E.I. with Caleb Oulton recording the shutout.

Owen Wood had a goal and an assist and Will Allen and Mason Pyke each scored once. Brennan MacDonald added an assist.

In their final round robin game, Will Allen had two goals and an assist as the Ramblers defeated the host Montague team 9-2.

Jaxon Harrison, Brennan MacDonald, Ethan Fraser, Mason Pyke, Lucas Hurley, Owen Wood and Chaz Lockhart each scored once. Owen Wood, Austin Dickie, Ethan Fraser, Connor Hunter and Chaz Lockhart each added assists.

Ryder Morrissey and Alex Nicholson scored for Montague.
