River Hebert High School hands out athletic hardware

Athletic awards, along with academic awards, were presented to students at River Hebert High School Tuesday night. RIVER HEBERT, N.S. – Students at River Hebert High School were recognized for their athletic achievements Tuesday night at the Brookside Curling Club.

The athletic awards were presented during the 39th Annual Awards Banquet, which also included academic awards.

Senior High Student of the Year Award – Sally Belliveau

Junior High Student of the Year Award – Jenna Gower

The two ‘Student of the Year’ awards are in recognition of outstanding achievement in social, athletic and academic areas of the school.

Senior Male Athlete – Jarrett Burbine

Senior Female Athlete – Sally Belliveau

Junior Male Athlete – Kyle Hurley

Junior Female Athlete – Madison Reid

NSSAF Good Sport Award – Jenna Gower and Brandon Hicks

The NSSAF award is presented to athletes who best demonstrate a commitment to fair play, ethical behaviour and integrity and who shows respect and concern for others while participating in school sports

Barry Anderson Award – Bryson Porter

The Barry Anderson award is presented to a senior athlete who contributes to school athletics

Patti Brown Memorial Award for sportsmanship, team spirit, and enthusiasm (senior student) – Breanna Cormier
