AMHERST – The Aerials Gymnastics Club is looking for volunteers to fill several vacancies at the Atlantic Canadian Gymnastics Championships.

The Atlantics are Friday and Saturday at the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre in Sackville, N.B.

Students who volunteer will be provided with volunteer certificates.

Areas where people are needed include the following:

Computer Scorers

Duties include entering scores from each of the judge’s tables into the scoring program.

Print of results for the announcer for the awards ceremony.

Print off additional copies for each club and respective committees.

Table Secretaries

Duties include tallying scores from judges for each gymnast, recording on both the judging sheet and the gymnast scorecard.

Duties include timing the warm ups and individual routines.

Score Flashers

Duties include flashing the start value scores for each gymnast.

Equipment Movers (Thursday)

People are needed throughout Thursday to set up gymnastics equipment beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Two to three truckloads of mats and equipment will be taken into the arena to be set up. The more people, the quicker it gets done. People can help for one, two or three hours, or until all the equipment is set up.

Also needed are people to work at the admissions table and people to sell 50/50 tickets.

The Aerials are also hosting the Eastern Canadian Gymnastics Championships May 5 to 7 at both Amherst Stadium and the Tantramar Veterans Memorial Civic Centre.

They are looking for volunteers for that event as well, including people to video record the trampoline event so referees can look at replays. Video equipment will be supplied.
