AMHERST – The first night of the Roy Maltby Fundy Hockey School is in the books.

Maltby helped create the hockey school and he worked tirelessly over the years to make the school a success.

After he passed away last October, the school, which is in its 31st year, was renamed in his honour.

The Roy Maltby Fundy Hockey School has a mission statement.

It says, “The intent of the Roy Maltby Hockey School is to provide an opportunity for all skill levels to participate in a well organized and structured hockey school at an affordable price. The qualities of sportsmanship, social development and skill development of the participants shall be the paramount objective.”

The 31st annual Roy Maltby Fundy Hockey School started Tuesday night, and runs until Sept. 17.
